Abu Dhabi is Just Like Dubai:
While Abu Dhabi and Dubai are both major cities in the United Arab Emirates, they have distinct identities and characteristics. Abu Dhabi tends to be more traditional and in touch with its cultural side compared to the glitzy and modern image often associated with Dubai. Abu Dhabi places a strong emphasis on cultural heritage and local traditions, offering unique experiences for visitors such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Among the world’s largest mosques, this architectural marvel was conceived from the visionary aspirations of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - the Founding Father of the UAE. His vison centred on creating a hospitable and culturally enriching haven that would serve as an inspiration for people from all backgrounds.

There's Nothing to See Besides Skyscrapers: While Abu Dhabi boasts impressive skyscrapers such as the Andaz Capital Gate, famously called the “leaning tower of Abu Dhabi,” which leans 18 degrees to the west, and over four times the tilt of Italy's renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa – there is much more to see and explore beyond the cityscape. Abu Dhabi is home to numerous cultural and nature attractions such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan (Presidential Palace), Jubail Mangrove Park and the Al Jahili Fort, showcasing the rich history and heritage of the region.

It's Too Hot to Visit: While the summers in Abu Dhabi can certainly bring scorching temperatures that exceed 40°C (104°F), the city experiences milder and pleasant weather during the winter months, typically from November through to April. This is a more comfortable time to explore outdoor attractions, go for desert safaris, and enjoy various outdoor activities. Abu Dhabi has mastered the art of providing summer entertainment with an array of indoor and water-based activities, such as the renowned Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and the newly introduced (and very cool… literally) attraction known as Snow Abu Dhabi. Covering a sprawling area of 9,732 square meters, Snow Abu Dhabi features over 20 rides and attractions, including sledding, carousels, zorbing, and ziplining, all year round.

Alcohol is Banned Everywhere: Contrary to popular belief, alcohol is not entirely banned in Abu Dhabi. While the city follows Islamic laws and has strict regulations regarding alcohol consumption, it is available in licensed establishments such as hotels, bars, and clubs. Visitors can enjoy alcoholic beverages within designated areas and adhere to local customs and laws.

Abu Dhabi is Only for the Wealthy: While Abu Dhabi does have luxury accommodations and upscale shopping districts, it also offers options for travellers with different budgets. There are affordable hotels, local markets (souks), where you can shop for traditional goods, and a range of dining options, including street food stalls and local eateries that provide an authentic taste of Emirati cuisine without breaking the bank. Even better, travellers can embark on a day of completely free activities in Abu Dhabi, such as hiking Jebel Hafit Mountain, visiting Al Qattara Murals or spending the afternoon at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. And for those travelling in the summer months, travellers will often be able snap up great deals on hotels, shopping, and experiences – so it really is the perfect destination for all types of travellers, and budgets.

Abu Dhabi Has No Cultural Scene: Some travelers might assume that Abu Dhabi is solely focused on modern development and lacks a vibrant cultural scene. However, the city boasts a rich cultural landscape, including world-class museums, art galleries, music festivals, and theatre performances. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, for instance, is a renowned museum that showcases a diverse collection of art and artifacts from around the world.

There's Nothing to Do Besides Shopping: While Abu Dhabi does offer luxury shopping experiences, there are numerous other activities to enjoy beyond shopping malls. Visitors can indulge in desert safaris, explore traditional souks (markets), partake in watersports along the coast, take a stroll along the Corniche promenade, and immerse themselves in the local and international food and entertainment scene. Abu Dhabi is also home to some of the world’s most popular sporting events, like the F1, hosted at the famous Yas Marina Circuit, NBA matches, and Soccer games. The city's diverse range of attractions caters to a wide variety of interests all year round.
